Last few Lessons

During the last few lessons, Clara and I have finished the scenes and put them together using IMovie. We now only have to fix up some of the mistakes in the film and put sound in.

Todays Lesson

Today Clara and I did scenes 1-4 with the help of Tori. We also started on the photoshop which is probably going to take a while. We now only have to finish photoshop and put all of the scenes together.

Progress Report

So far Clara and I have done all of the animationish scenes which are scenes 5-11. We now only have to do The IStop Motion scenes, then put all scenes together and use photoshop to finish it off. This shouldn't take too long so we should be finished in time for the due date.

Last Week

Last Week Clara and I finished scenes 5-10. now we only have to do the i stop motion and photoshop parts and then put it all together.

Friday May 20

During fridays lesson we did scene 8 using animationish. we plan to do scenes 5 and 7 next because we want to do the animationish part first and they do not require the use of Istopmotion.

Story Board

Tuesday May 17th

On tuesday clara and i finished our story board for out animation. we drew and wrote out all the planning for each scene and figured out how we would be making them. We also decided on which scenes we would do first to make it easier and give us more time to do a good job on the photoshop at the end.

Monday May 9th

On monday Mr. Powell taught the class about storyboards. They are very useful because it is how you plan your animation. He also explained how long we have to finish our assignment and showed us how we could manage our time so we don't leave it to the last minute.

Evaluation

Both my Avatars used a similar process to be finished. The first thing I did was to put them into the backgrounds and change their hair and eye/ lips colour. I did this by using the mask, liquify and Hue and Saturation tools.
I then found snake skin on the internet and using the masking tool again I changed their skin. I also added an airoplane to the background using the masking tool and, to make it blend in, changed the opacity and flow of the brush.
After this I added in the wings. This took a few tries because it was difficult to find the right ones. I used the masking and Hue and Saturation tools for this as well so I could get the right colour that matched the emotion.

I really liked this term, it was great to learn about Photoshop and I learnt a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed this unit of work but there are a few improvements that I could have made to my avatars. Firstly, I could have chosen the colour scheme better and this would have made it easier to make the colour wheel. I would have also taken more time to get the hair and face shape on my second, male, avatar right. I would have also taken longer liquefying the eyes on him so they don’t look so droopy.

Inspiration

The two images that inspired me for the skin and wings are these: The one of the snakeskin inspired me because the person looks very gentle and a lot like my race of people. I liked the butterfly wings because they matched the personality of my avatars, butterflies being gentle and calm.

Personality Profile

My race of people are called jimeonian. They live in the sky on clouds and are a kind and angelic race but they are also very outgoing and bright. When airplanes go past them they get very sad because it becomes difficult to breathe and their eyesight goes blurry. Their wings, eyes, skin and hair changes colour depending on their emotions. They can swim and walk on land but they prefer to fly because they like the freedom and it upsets them when other races look at them funny because they have snake skin, to reflect the rays of sun up in the clouds. Both genders, male and female have big light eyes that reflect the sunlight. They have big eyes to see far away. The girl is called Jimmay. She is a very curious girl and likes to watch people on Earth but she doesn't like the way other races look at her. She is usually very happy. The Boy is called Tyrone, he is a very non-aggressive person but gets really upset when planes go past because he has a breathing condition a bit like asthma and so he is extremely affected by the aeroplane pollution.
